Still Here...

2 min read
Just a quick update since it's been a few months since I've last done anything here...

Been out longer than I had expected or anticipated; have been quite busy with work (Medicare changes and bad economy) and both kids starting school. Fortunately everything seems to be getting "normal" schedule again--more or less--and Life is better in some ways and same in others. Relationship is doing great (surprisingly enough; guess we learned to live with each other's annoying little things that we do). At least not worse than before so gotta be thankful for that. Haven't really done anything in photography these last few months due to previously mentioned busy schedule, but was able to upload some picture that I was able to take in-between the chaos. I have more pictures to upload; right now I'm actually at work taking some breather since it's been a pretty laid back day. Other than that, been addicted to eBay. Not necessarily buying or bidding like crazy insane, but just looking around and browsing for good deals. I'm actually thinking of putting my Nikon D40 for sale there. Been planning on that for quite some time, and just when I'm about to, a friend or a friend of a friend will tell me they're interested in purchasing and to "hold it" for them, but then they back out or it's been forever and they still haven't. Frustration!

Well, guess that's it for now. I'm sure there's other mundane and inconsequential stuff I can say, but will leave that off until later

Finally was able to upload some photos from the trip at the Huntington Library out in Pasadena, CA. It was a last minute decision with rushing the kids and the nanny in the car and driving over there with the boyfriend. Quite a beautiful place with different themed gardens. I was very excited to view the rose garden, but unfortunate, the roses weren't in full bloom yet so we just wandered around the other ones. The kids enjoyed the Chinese and Japanese garden a lot more than the other ones because of the lakes and ponds with the choi fishes. They fussed about moving on to the next garden and refused to budge until I threatened to leave them behind. He he he...We're planning on visiting again and hopefully the roses will be in their full glory by then. The nanny had wanted to take pictures to send to her husband via facebook and I wanted to take more pictures in RAW. Other than that, I've been back to work and it's been quite chaotic at the office. One of our employees is on a two-week vacation, and she's not like my idiot self who takes a vacation from work and still comes in to work 1/2-day. And of course, I'm handling her work load. Go figure...

My son's 3rd birthday party passed by quickly enough without any major incident. I had bought him a big Lightning McQueen pinata, which surprisingly enough was pretty cheap. I filled it with candy (it took quite a lot of candy since it was pretty big) and my parents did put money in there in increments of $1, $5, $10 & $20's. They were contemplating of inserting a few larger bills in there, but I told them I didn't want to make it into a brawl. The adults found out about the money and needless to say my aunt joined in the melee along with some other older guests...I did, too. LOL. I got away with $42.00 which I ended up splitting with my co-worker/ friend's son who didn't get anything and he was getting teary-eyed. My sons, Xander & Tristan, weren't even interested in the candy or the money. Xander just picked up a lollipop and walked away with it to play at his slides and Tristan was too busy playing with his toy car. Overall, it was fun and everyone was laughing after.

As for everything else, I have two more Saturdays to go to finish up that Administrative seminar thing, but I have to make up two days that I missed to complete the required 40 hours (sigh). I've also been procrastinating on some office work that I normally take home with me and they've been piling up. More and more days I find myself unable to reserve any self-time. It's probably going to arrive to me asking the boyfriend to leave me alone for a week so I can have some rest days and finally resume some much needed work. Not only with my fun time with photography, but a much necessary time to finish my paper work. It's not like he's directly preventing me from working on any of those, it's just that I prefer doing my photography and work alone without any interruption from anyone, and I hate it when people hover when I'm trying to concentrate. So definitely asking him to leave me be for a few days. He's not going to like it and he'll whine and grouch, but I've already explained to him during my days of bitchiness when I couldn't take it anymore and he grudgingly understands.

Sorry for the delay on my responses to messages and :+fav:s and watch. They are very much appreciated, especially all the help and suggestions I've been receiving in regards to the benefits of shooting in JPEG or RAW and macro. I was able to respond to some of my messages and comments, but not yet to all the :+fav:s and the added watch. I'm really sorry and I hope people understand that Life tends to be as it is at times. If I don't get to personally thank everyone, please understand and know that I am grateful and each one I receive is special and helps me continue to believe that maybe I can make something out of my photography someday...

Well, goodnight for now. I have to clean out my closet because my co-worker's have some daughters that is my size before I had my kids and they want to buy them off me. I figured, why not. At least I get some $ to replenish the lost wardrobe that I no longer wear :D. Nighty-night everybody!

Last week went by fairly fast since I had decided to take a week vacation from work. I decided it was only fair since everyone else around me has been taking 2-3 weeks off and I always get volunteered to pick up their work. So my vacation started a few days ago on Monday, but I have yet to feel relaxed or go anywhere with my kids. Despite the start of my vacation on Monday, I still had to go in to finish some papers I didn't get to last Friday because of an incident with my youngest son, Tristan, and a bead. Basically he had managed to insert a bead up his left nostril. Thankfully I was barely driving out of the driveway when I glanced at my reareview mirror and saw the nanny waving frantically at me to get my attention. Tristan's nose was bleeding and the yaya (or "nanny" in tagalog) told me that she thinks he had inserted one of his brother's legos in there while she went to prepare them breakfast. I didn't want to mess with the thing in fear of pushing it up further his nasal cavity, but I felt around it and did feel something lodge in there so I rushed him to ER while yaya and my eldest waited in the car watching a DVD. Thankfully he had only inserted a toy in one nostril and not both, because my initial reaction was fear that he had done that and he wouldn't be able to get enough oxygen or suffocation. But looking at hime I knew he wasn't having any sort of respiratory distress, and his O2 sat was 98% when it got checked at the hospital and by then he had stopped crying, his nose had stopped bleeding and he was playing as if he didn't have anything stuck up his nose. I was just grateful that there wasn't the usual long wait in the ER at the time and we managed to get the lego--which ended up to be a bead--out and taken care of. We left the ER with him suspiciously eyeing the poor male nurse who had to wrap him up burrito-style in a blanket and hold him still while another nurse extracted the bead. We were all surprise when the bead came out since I had thought it was a lego (since that was what his older brother was playing with). But it was a bead, which was extremely puzzling since I don't have beads at home. I don't have any jewelry that has beads and according to yaya, neither does she. So we were both puzzled as how he managed to get a hold of a tiny little orange plastic bead. But as said, I'm just grateful that it was a minor case of child inserting something up his nose and having it taken out without further incident. Needless to say, Yaya and I went though their toy box to dispose of any more suspicous little objects the little one's might've picked up around the house.

As for the rest of my vacation, well...Monday I already mentioned I had to go in to finish up some papers I didn't get to last Friday; Tuesday I got called in to handle some billing, and Wednesday I got asked to open the office and ended up staying until 1:00 PM and did a little work. Today, Thursday, was my actual only day in this joke of a week vacation where I didn't go to the office, but I did have to go run around and buy the stuff for my youngest's birthday party for this Sunday. His birthday was actually at the end of January, but his party got postponed because my cousin had gotten married at the end of January, and my parents were busy all through the month of February so planning a birthday party at that time wasn't ideal since they wouldn't have been able to attend. So now--FINALLY--my Tristan will have his 3rd birthday party this Sunday, and today was spent ordering the cake, the catering and I spent at leat 2 hours at Party City trying to decide what to put in the little munckins party bag...or whatever they're called...fun pack...giveaways...eh...whatever. I couldn't find a pinata, though. My boyfriend told me I had to go to a hispanic place to get them, but my brain refused to come up with any places. I know there's some, but by that time my brain had done some running around a list already that it had refused to properly function by then. So tomorrow my boyfriend and I are going to this one place to rent some more chairs for the backyard, get balloons, and get a pinata. My mother had said she was going to add coins and some dollar bills in the pinata to make it more fun, and I told her in that case I'm sure my aunt will join the chaos and push kids around to get to the money. But she's right in this one case: it WILL be more fun and interesting to watch

I have to open the office tomorrow again...

This vacation sucks...

...and this Saturday, actually for the next four consecutive Saturdays, I have to attend an administrative seminar for the office, which doubly sucks since it's from 8am-5pm. Eh. A whole day locked up in a room listening to someone blab about administrative responsibilities that I'm sure would bore me to tears. But I suppose I shouldn't complain so much since it is for a bigger paycheck...But I can already feel the boredom weighing upon me on the not-so-anticipated four Saturdays.

I'm holding all photography and any digital art right now until probably the next week or two. This is the first time since my "vacation" that I was able to sign in my deviantArt. How sad is that?!

Eeeehhh! It's almost 1am so I have to cut my tirade short. Have to wake up early and open the office in a few hours. What a sucky vacation.</p>

But I guess I see the humor in it :lmao:

ANOTHER WEEK...

7 min read

...ANOTHER MONDAY

Took the day off from work today. Well, it was a scheduled day off since my sons had an appointment this morning, but they re-scheduled to the 22nd of March and considering I've already informed the office a week before that I won't be in today, I figured why bother telling them prior engagements were cancelled when I can work on office stuff at home. So I've been working on mentioned work since 10 AM, but my external harddrive is giving me pains this morning. Yeesh! So taking a little break right now while my sons watch Casper's Scare School

Joined a few clubs here on dA to expose my gallery more and hopefully receive some very much constructive critiques. I'm also trying to finish up the website I've been messing with for the last month. Actually, I have finished it, but then I changed my mind (because it was too bright white) so I reconstructed the whole thing again from scratch. So far I'm very happy with it; just need to input info and all that fun stuff. It's very much a personal photography website; I'm not comfortable enough with my photographic/ editing and photomanipulation abilities to offer my services. I'm currently practicing on my co-worker's pictures to build up my photo-correction capabilities. It's more of a hit-and-miss with me at the moment, but I'll upload some samples later once I'm satisfied with finishing up some of my office work.

As for now, thank you everyone who has viewed, commented, :+fav: ed and added me to their watch. It's greatly appreciated. Your support and constructive inputs are very welcome and very much needed :giggle:

Got to work earlier than usual today because I had to open the office. Sucks, but in a way it's nice since it's just a couple of us and we ended up having breakfast in the kitchen and just laughing and what-not before the bosses get here (which, BYW, they're not in yet otherwise I wouldn't be typing this journal right now :D ). Currently alternating screens right now to typing this and typing something for work. Eh...it's Friday so it's very lackadaisical...not to mention it's payday to day :woot:

The nanny will be leaving this weekend since one of her friends from Australia came a-visiting. I believe we're supposed to take her to Huntington Library on Monday, but that all depends on whether or not I'll be able to take the day off.

Well, just rambling today. Nothing really special or important.
I submitted two photos from Valentine's Day (grrr...an annoying holiday) taken with my Nikon D90. I'm still trying to get the hang of using it. It has a lot more what-not's than the D40, soooo...

G2G for now.

My coffee's cold...
